Pharmacology

• Lantidex 60 mg is a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that inhibits gastric acid secretion.
• It is the R-enantiomer of lansoprazole and suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the (H+/K+)-ATPase in the gastric parietal cell.

Dosage: of Lantidex 60mg Capsule

Adult Dose:

• Erosive Esophagitis:
  • Healing (capsule): 60 mg orally once a day for up to 8 weeks.
  • Maintenance (capsule or DR): 30 mg orally once a day for up to 6 months.
• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD):
  • Capsule or DR: 30 mg orally once a day for 4 weeks.
• Hepatic Impairment:
  • Mild (Child-Pugh A): Dose adjustment not necessary.
  • Moderate (Child-Pugh B): Not to exceed 30 mg/day.
  • Severe (Child-Pugh C): Not recommended.

Child Dose:

• <12 years: Safety and efficacy not established.
• ≥12 years:
  • Erosive Esophagitis: Same as adult dose.
  • GERD: Same as adult dose.

Administration of Lantidex 60mg Capsule

May be taken with or without food; Delayed Release: Take at least 30 minutes before a meal. Swallowed whole or administered by opening the capsule and sprinkling intact granules on one tablespoon, then swallowed immediately.

No reports of significant overdose. Multiple doses up to 300 mg did not result in severe adverse events.

Interaction

• With medicines: Atazanavir, Warfarin, Tacrolimus, Clopidogrel, and Methotrexate.
• No data is available for interactions with food and others.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category B. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with Dexlansoprazole in pregnant women. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with Dexlansoprazole in Lactating mothers.

Precautions & Warnings

Includes precautions for gastric malignancy, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, bone fracture, hypomagnesemia, and concomitant use with Methotrexate.
